about me
and what I do
I work with free software, platforms, and images in the public domain. My techniques are self-taught. My objective is to create relevant, sophisticated, and evolving work using only tools available to anyone with an internet connection.
These limiting conditions are a conscious choice that inform and shape my work. In opposition to the notion that technology simplifies tasks, working within these restrictions necessitates a slower pace. It also pushes back against proprietary technologies that are, for some, a barrier to progress, and for others, a means of withholding equitable access to resources.
In combining the use of non-exclusive tools and public domain content, I challenge the exclusivity of artistic endeavour, and demonstrate the creative potential of a more open and accessible digital commons.
While exploring ideas about connection and isolation in process and content, I strive to create art that conveys humour, beauty, and the pursuit of optimism in very strange times.
